The killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and countless other Black people are senseless and devastating. They deserve justice, and systemic racism and inequities must end.

Our industry is inextricably linked to generations of that same racism and inequity through the disparate application of drug laws in communities of color, and we have a responsibility to demand justice. We will use our platform and resources to achieve justice and equality through restorative initiatives, and to build tangible pathways to a diverse and inclusive industry through investment, education and legislative initiatives.

We are immediately committing 5,000 working hours from our Cresco Labs employees to support community projects and initiatives that further this critical mission. We also pledge to expand our working and financial support of our allies and partner organizations that further justice and align with the values of our organization, including the Last Prisoner Project, Cabrini Green Legal Aid, the Institute for Community Justice – Philadelphia FIGHT, and the New York Urban League.

Last Prisoner Project is a nonprofit working for criminal justice reform: to legalize, release, expunge and help reentry of people in prison for cannabis crimes.

Institute for Community Justice – Philadelphia FIGHT serves anyone impacted by mass incarceration by providing support services that empower those affected to thrive as their fullest selves.

New York Urban League empowers African Americans and other underserved communities to secures a first-class education, economic self reliance and equal respect of their civil rights through programs, services and advocacy.
